What is Civil Defence?

Civil Defence is an organisation comprised of citizens who provide their services voluntarily. Members attend classes in many disciplines during the training period, which teach life saving skills in First Aid, Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting, Boating Skills, Radiation monitoring and Radio Communications.

12.09.2011:  Return of the All Ireland Camogie Team.  Ambulance and First Aid cover to be provided by Civil Defence. 

10.09.2011:  Wexford County Fire Service 9/11 Remembrance Mass.  Invitation to Civil Defence members to attend. 

10.09.2011:  10k Running Road Race, Kilmore Village, Co. Wexford.  Ambulance and First Aid cover to be provided by Civil Defence. 

Why become a member of Civil Defence?

As well as learning new techniques, which enhance personal development, you can assist your local community in the event of an Emergency. Could you be of assistance in time of flooding or helping to search for a missing person? Civil Defence can teach you these skills. What Equipment do we use?

Wexford Civil Defence has a complete range of modern equipment in order to enable it to provide support when required in the community. It has three fully equipped Ambulances, a number of 4 wheel drive jeeps and personnel carriers, and two river rescue boats. Click here to see pictures of our equipment!
